Medicare Advantage OEP (Open Enrollment Period) is a yearly enrollment window that runs from January 1 through March 31. During this time, people who are already enrolled in a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan can make a one-time change. Specifically, they can:

Switch to a different Medicare Advantage plan (with or without drug coverage)

Drop their Medicare Advantage plan and return to Original Medicare

Add a stand-alone Part D drug plan if they return to Original Medicare
New Medicare beneficiaries who enrolled in an MA plan during their initial enrollment period can also make a one-time change during OEP.
OEP is designed to give Medicare Advantage members a chance to fix issues they may have noticed after using their plan for a few months, such as such as provider networks, costs or prescription coverage.
